| ROMNEY would have let us keep our Twinkies.
But seriously, Hostess is trying to sell off a lot of its assets to the highest bidder, including some of it's brands. Which means there is still hope for our Twinkes after all. They may be Little Debbie's Twinkies, but they'll still be there.

| This certainly is an interesting development. Everybody's talking about the effects on the snack cakes, but I feel that Hostess' involvement in bread is more of an eye-opener. Everybody knows that Hostess does Wonder Bread and Butternut. But they also make the generic breads that are sold in retailers around here in Central IL. I believe it's "Home Style" or something like that. Sunbeam used to be the supplier for the schools in the local small towns, but they left and Hostess (Interstate Brands) took over a long while ago. A few retailers that I know have contingency plans and are prepared, but I wonder what plans the schools have with the rug pulled out from under them. As for the snack cakes, it's like somebody said on Fark: the rights will sell like hotcakes and somebody will have Twinkies out before the end of the year. - Quote :

Little Debbie's 90% of the way there with their Cloud Cakes. I just hope that the new owner of Twinkies will put them back to their old recipe. I loved them as a youngster, but as an adult they taste like crap.

| We can still get Twinkies on a regular basis here. Hostess licensed them out to Vachon, whom makes them in Canada. I think I may have a new business soon, seen them selling for easily $30 a box on ebay, maybe undersell all those sellers. | |

| I don't particularly care about Twinkies one way or the other, but this may be the best title for a thread in the history of ever. | |

I don't actually have any friends, but the people that are aware of me tell me that this is the best option until Twinkies miraculously appear again next year. (In case you were wondering, they will. Trust me on this.)

| There has to be a knock-off store brand of Twinkies. | |

Aye, but they're just not the same thing. You think that would be an easy thing to copy, but no.
